Megan Braithwaite
Mrs Megan Braithwaite
DipTh; BTh (Hons.) (BTC)

Lecturer in Hebrew

Megan graduated with a B.Com from the University of Natal in 1991, then went on to work for Youth for Christ in Pietermaritzburg before relocating to Johannesburg. After a brief period in secular business, she chose to be a full-time mother to her children. In 2009, she graduated with a B.Th. Hons. from BTC and is currently pursuing a B.A. Hons. in Semitic Languages (Hebrew and Aramaic). Megan and her husband both serve as elders at Edenvale Baptist Church.  Apart from Biblical languages, her other passion is mentoring and ministry to young women.


Llewellyn Howes
Mr Llewellyn Howes

Lecturer in Greek

Llewellyn completed his degree in Theology (Cum Laude) at the University of Pretoria in 2002 and received the Chancellor's Medal for excellent academic achievement. He went on to complete two Masters degrees in 2004 (Cum Laude), one in New Testament and one in Ancient Languages. Llewellyn then started studying Film Production while teaching both Greek and Hebrew at various Theological Institutions. In 2008, he completed his honours degree in Film Production. Besides teaching at BTC, Llewellyn is currently completing his Doctoral degree in New Testament Science at the University of Pretoria. His ultimate goal is to combine film and theological studies to educate the South African people on the Bible.

Llewellyn is unmarried, but in a steady relationship with Yolandi Havemann.


Dennis Beeselaar
Rev. Dennis Beeselaar

Lecturer in Pastoral Studies

Dennis has pastored two Baptist churches and was appointed in August 2006 as Care Pastor at Rosebank Union Church. He studied at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Cape Town and obtained a Licentiate in Theology. While pastoring in the local church, the opportunity came for him to enroll at Stellenbosch University and obtained his MTh in clinical pastoral care and counselling. Dennis also served as Manager and clinical pastoral counsellor at a psychiatric clinic and TB/HIV and Aids hospital. His passion is to equip the local church in pastoral care and counselling for active service and ministry to those in need.


Kelvin Roy

Lecturer in Church History

Kevin Roy found the Lord when studying Electrical Engineering at Bristol University in England. He came to South Africa in 1972 and served nine years with the Dorothea Mission, engaged in evangelism in various parts of Southern Africa. From 1981 he was involved with the planting of the Wilro Park Baptist Church in Roodepoort. Thereafter he worked at UNISA as a lecturer in the Departments of Church History and Missiology for a few years while also pastoring the Emmaus Baptist Church during 1989. He then accepted a call to the Cape Town Baptist Seminary where he happily served for 17 years, before accepting a call to the Muldersdrift Union Church where he now is.


Stephan Pohlmann
Rev. Stephen Pohlmann
B.Sc. Honours (Geology) (UJ); BTh Hons(BTC)

Lecturer in Missions Studies & Systematic Theology

Stephen graduated with a B.Sc. Honours (Geology) from the University of Johannesburg. After some time in the business he entered BTC while working at the Edenvale Baptist Church. He graduated from BTC with a B.Th. Hon. in 2008. In October 2010, EBC sent him and his wife, Bianca, to plant a church in the South of Johannesburg where he now serves as senior pastor of Riverside Community.  He is well-equipped to lecture in our missions department in evangelism/apologetics and theology department in overview of doctrine.


Gerhard Venter
Dr. Gerhard Venter
Dip Th; BA Hons; MA; Doctrate

Lecturer in Greek & Pastoral Studies

After graduating with a Diploma in Theology from the Afrikaans Baptist Seminary. Gerhard pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and also completed a BA Honours through University of Johannesburg. He earned a Master of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, USA. Finally Gerhard graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a Doctorate in Literacy and Philosophy.
He is currently the Pastor of Discipleship and Training at Rosebank Union Church and Director of Studies of the Rosebank Bible College.


Norman Ronnie
Mr Norman Ronne
BTh. Hons. (BTC); MTh (Unisa)

Lecturer in Baptist Principles

Mr Ronne graduated (cum laude) from BTC at the end of 1979 and received a Licentiate in Theology. Years later, Norman upgraded his Licentiate to gain entrance to Unisa’s BTh Honours Programme. He obtained the BTh Honours in 1993, and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Theological Ethics in 1997. On the professional front, he is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), and has been a Director in the Auditing and Accounting firm KPMG.

Norman has been an Elder for many years, and he has also been involved with the Care Ministry Team. He recently served as Ministry List Co-ordinator for the BU for 2 years.


George
Rev. George Ngamlana

Lecturer in Missions Studies

George has completed several areas of study. He has pastored several churches of the years, been the president of the Baptist Union and more recently served as a missionary/lecturer at Filwali Hill Bible College, Zambia. He is well equipped to teach in our missions department of BTC.
